Field Team Leaders Head South To California and the Pacific Crest Trail

Field Team Leaders Ready For The Sun
Last Monday the Field Team Leaders piled into the rigs for a two day trip to Southern California. Why Southern California? To spend six weeks learning to build and maintain hiking and equestrian trails on the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile national scenic trail that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington.
In addition to basking in that famous California sunshine, the leaders will learn trail building techniques from the staff of the Pacific Crest Trail Association, an organization charged with protecting, preserving and promoting this national treasure. Highlights of the training include: horse packing into a backcountry camp, leading community volunteers on projects and exploring Joshua Tree National Park.
