About the MAC
For 16 years the Northwest Service Academy—Mt. Adams Center has created a place of potential through a partnership with AmeriCorps. And for 16 years young minds and inquisitive souls have come to the center to provide environmental service to the Northwest.
2010 will be an exciting year as 67 AmeriCorps members serving as interns and field team members will engage their minds to advocate for, and strain their bodies to improve, our environment.

The Washington based campus of the Northwest Service Academy, known as the Mt. Adams Center, is located in Washington state and is surrounded by the Cascade Mountains. Now in its 16th year, the Mt. Adams Center serves as a training and operational hub for its highly regarded AmeriCorps Programs:
AmeriCorps Environmental Internship Program
The Environmental Intern program places individuals throughout Washington and Oregon with the leading public lands agencies and community based non-profits: U.S. Forest Service, Fish & Wildlife, Cascade Land Conservancy, Underwood Conservation District and many more. Interns restore watersheds, recruit volunteers, organize public education events and much more in the pursuit of managing natural resources in a sustainable and ecological manner. Positions run January through November. If your organization would like to sponsor an intern, contact Amanda Lawrence: 509-345-3467 or Amanda.Lawrence@esd112.org. If you would like to apply for an internship, contact Amanda Green: 509-396-3465 or mac@esd112.org.
AmeriCorps Field Team Leadership Program
The Field Team Leadership program trains participants to lead teams on outdoor based, environmentally focused projects throughout Washington, Oregon and California. Leaders engage in three months of technical training that prepares them to guide a team of six on six months of projects in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. The program runs February through November. For more information contact Amanda Green: 509-396-3465 or mac@esd112.org
AmeriCorps Field Team Program
The Field Team program is a residential based program that serves in the mountains of Washington, Oregon and California. Each year 30 Field Team Members join seven field teams dedicated to building and maintaining trails, protecting communities from wild fires or restoring natural habitat. Teams operate May through October. If your organization would like to sponsor a field team, contact Debi Budnick: 509-345-3464 or Debi.Budnick@esd112.org. If you would like to apply for a position, contact Amanda Green: 509-396-3465 or mac@esd112.org.
